This exam is conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board in multiple languages to recruit assistant loco pilots and technicians for different railway zones. RRB ALP 1st Stage (CBT) Exam Pattern
The first stage of the examination is the screening examination. The candidates who qualify at this stage will only be considered for the further process.

- Examination Language – Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Manipuri, Konkani
- Number of Questions – 75
- Question Types –Multiple Choice Questions
- Marking Scheme – 1 mark for a right answer
- Negative Marking –Minus (one-third) marks for an incorrect answer
RRB ALP 2nd Stage (CBT) Exam Pattern 2024
The second stage of the examination is divided into two parts, i.e. Part A and Part B. Part A marks are considered for the preparing merit list, and Part B is the qualifying exam. In Part A and B papers, (one-third) marks will be deducted for wrong answers.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should read the eligibility criteria before filling out the registration form. If the candidates do not meet the eligibility criteria and then he/she will fill out the form, the forms will not be considered for the further recruitment process.
- Nationality –The candidates must be citizens of India or must be the subjects of Nepal and Bhutan.
- Age Limit –18 to 33 years (as on 01.07.2024)
- Age Relaxation –The candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC, and PWD category candidates must be given age relaxation of 5, 3, and 10 years, respectively.
Education Qualification –
- Assistant Loco Pilot – The candidates should have matriculation / SSLC plus ITI / Course completed ACT apprentices OR Diploma/degree in engineering.
- For Technicians – The candidates should have matriculation / SSLC plus ITI / Course completed ACT apprentices or have passed 12th with Physics and Maths. Also, a Diploma in Engineering.
RRB ALP Application Form 2024
The RRB ALP exam application form is available online only, and its exam will be conducted online through computer mode, so students willing to take part in this exam must fill out the online application form we provided here.

- Visit the official website of RRB
- Select the post for which you want to apply
- Click on the notification of RRB ALP on the website’s homepage.
- Register for the exam on the regional RRB website.
- To follow the registration process, open the page and fill in their basic details, such as your name, parent’s name, contact information, email, etc.
- After that, you will receive an OTP to process it.
- Once the OTP is validated, process the mail generated for login credentials.
- Log in with the credentials and provide the details asked by the application.
- Pay the required amount. Failure to pay the amount will result in your application being rejected.
- Download the copy of the application and take out a hard copy. Save it for further use.
