On a rotational basis, this exam is conducted by seven IITs (Roorkee, Madras, Delhi, Bombay, Kanpur, Guwahati, and Kharagpur) and IISC (Indian Institute of Science) Bangalore on account of the NCB (National Coordination Board). GATE 2024 Exam is conducted by IIT Delhi. The score obtained in GATE 2024 is valid for 3 years from the date of the declaration of the results.
Furthermore, the GATE exam score is also used in several PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) like IOCL, NTPC, ONGC, BHEL, GAIL and etc. in their recruitment selection. In recent addition, the GATE score is also valid in the Cabinet Secretariat recruitment of candidates of Group “A” category for the post of Senior Field Officer (SFO) and SRO (Senior Research Officer). Total Marks – 100
Negative Marking – There will be a deduction of one-third of the marks for one-mark questions and for two-mark questions there will deduction of two-thirds marks.
In question papers of AG, CE, AE, CH, BT, EC, CS, IN, ME, EE, MN, MT, TF, PE, PI & XE will contain a subject question, engineering mathematics, and general aptitude questions.
Meanwhile, the question papers of XL, GG, PH, EY, AR, CY, ST, EY, and MA will contain subject questions and General Aptitude.
